UBTC placed 4th out of 9 teams in the 3rd Annual Franklin County Farm Bureau Breakfast Battle on March 26th. The breakfast battle, held at the Hampton Fareway store in recognition of National Ag Week, consists of 3-member teams shopping for groceries off a menu list in the shortest time possible, while staying in a $45 to $50 budget. All groceries collected benefit the Franklin County Food Pantry in Hampton and the Food Pantry in Latimer, located at the Immanual U-C-C. Coming in first place was the Franklin County Extension with a time of two minutes and 18 seconds.

Ethan Meints, a senior at West Fork High School in Sheffield, was recently honored as the 2014 recipient of the Iowa Bankers Association’s Student Athlete Achievement Scholarship Award during the Iowa high school state basketball championships March 14-15 in Des Moines. This award recognizes a graduating senior student athlete who not only excels on the court, but also in the classroom and the community.
