UBTC Begins Transition to New CEO
Brown came to UBTC in 1991 as CEO of Sheffield Savings Bank and subsequently guided the bank through its name change, mergers with Farmers State Bank of Dows and Alden State Bank and the addition of the Hampton office. Trewin currently works in UBTC’s Sheffield office as CFO and Senior Vice President overseeing all lending activities of the bank. He joined the bank’s Dows office in 1995 following his graduation from Iowa State University. In 1999, after an intervening stint with the Farmers Cooperative Company in Dows, Trewin returned to the bank as the senior lender in Sheffield. Trewin received an MBA from Drake University in 2002 and was elected to the bank’s board of directors in 2007.
UBTC recently hired Jordan Guyer as Trewin’s replacement in Sheffield. Guyer will oversee all lending activities in Sheffield and Dougherty. Trewin and Guyer will work together in Sheffield for a few months to assure a smooth transition in that office, then Trewin will move his office to Hampton where he and Brown will complete the transition plan. The bank’s operations will continue to be located in Sheffield under supervision of long-time COO and board member Arlene Noss. Brown will serve the bank in a limited advisory capacity and as a member of their board of directors following his retirement.
